We are a membership organisation focussing on initiating contacts and identifying prospective investors, business opportunities & development projects for Barbados.

The country offers a well-regulated, transparent and supportive environment for investment.
Generally, there are no restrictions on foreign ownership of businesses or real estate, and the government works to make it as easy as possible for you to do business here.
We have a stable economy, with a strong legal system. Barbados also has the right people and institutional framework to make starting and running a business as straightforward as possible.

AREAS OF ACTIVITY

BUSINESS IN BARBADOS
Doing business in Barbados means you have access to the country’s international tax and investment treaties: double taxation agreements (DTAs), bilateral investment treaties (BITs), and tax information exchange agreements (TIEAs).
We have a robust regulatory framework for doing business in Barbados. This is underpinned by effective legislation providing strict guidelines for governance, enforced by regulators in each sector.

INPUT INFO ON SHANE

Jo Smith created Renfrewshire Business Network in November 2012, and is also the co-founder of annual Trade Missions to Barbados.
The first Trade Mission was in 2020, and has seen a variety of businesses going to Barbados to gain an insight into the opportunities available there. This has resulted in several delegates setting up their business in Barbados.
Jo has worked closely with Business Friends of Barbados, which has been instrumental in encouraging people to join the Trade Missions.
Jo has also run her own successful business since May 2008, called A1 Training Services. When the first course was delivered in Barbados in 2023, the company incorporated into A1 Training International.
